There are three major indoor air contaminants: asbestos, bio-aerosols, and radon:
Asbestos: a silicate that occurs in fiber bundles. It is known for its strength and fire resistance. It was often used in old commercial buildings. Exposure to asbestos can cause health concerns. Other contaminants include bio aerosols which are airborne microorganisms derived from viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, mites and pollen. Radon is an odorless, tasteless, radioactive gas that occurs naturally in soil and rocks.
