Air used in an air conditioning system must be filtered to maintain a clean atmosphere in the conditioned space. Outside air may contain a number of contaminants, such as bacteria, pollens, insects, and dirt. The concentration of these contaminants in the air, and the degree of cleanliness required in the conditioned space.
The contaminants in the atmosphere can range in size from one which is less than 0.01 micron to those which can be caught by a regular window screen. The infinite number of contaminates makes it impossible to design the perfect filter. It is important to change the filter on a regular basis at least once every 30 days.
